Celtic Link Ferries Routes, History and Fleet Information

Celtic Link ferries offer cross channel ferry services to Cherbourg in Northern France from Portsmouth on the South Coast of England and Rosslare in Ireland. Services are offered onboard 2 ferries, the Norman Voyager (One of the newest ferries operating on the English channel, currently being chartered from LD Lines) and the Diplomat which connects both passenger and freight operations between Rosslare and Cherbourg. Celtic Link operate 3 return crossings a week between Rosslare and Cherbourg and a daily crossing on their Portsmouth Cherbourg route.

Celtic Link Ferries History

Celtic Link ferries have a fairly short history. There were established in 2005 to meet increasing demand for both passenger and freight traffic between Rosslare and Cherbourg. Following the success of their first route, in 2009 Celtic Link Ferries took on an additional vessel and entered into the cross channel ferry market with a convenient link from Portsmouth to Cherbourg where they already had an excellent relationship with the port authorities.

Celtic Link Ferries Fleet

The Norman Voyager has capacity for up to 800 passengers, 200 cars and up to 120 freight vehicles. On board facilities include 110 cabins, a well equipped bar and restaurant, a choice lounges, an onboard shop, Wifi Internet access throughout and even an onboard cinema!

The MV Diplomat, used on the Rosslare Cherbourg route has capacity for up to 112 passengers, and 1,320 lane meters for freight and passenger vehicles. On board facilities include passenger and freight cabins, bar, restaurant and a lounge.
