About Dover

Stepped in history, Dover is a fantastic place to visit just for a day, a stopover or perhaps longer. Dover hosts many tourist attractions in and around the town, catering for the young and old alike. Well worth a visit is Dover Castle, with its network of secret tunnels deep in the white cliffs. Rich in history visitors can experience life in the Castle throughout the ages and join the impressive list of visitors which includes, Henry VIII and Winston Churchill. Climbing to the top of the Castle is a steep mission but worth the pain for the breathtaking view. Down on the waterfront is Dover esplanade and the Prince of Wales Pier with the dramatic white cliffs providing the backdrop. Dover has a variety of Museums too covering transport and life in Dover from the ancient Celts to World War II and beyond. Other tourist attractions include bus tours and the White Cliffs Experience.

Further details on these and other attractions can be found at http://www.dover-web.co.uk or simply visit the Tourist Information Office in Dover town centre.

Getting to Dover couldn't be easy as it is served by the main routes to London by leaving the M25 and heading for the M20 or via the M2 motorway and joining the A2.
