Plymouth
The Port of Plymouth is the historical second home of the British Royal Navy and is
located at the mouth of the River Tamar in the South of England. Plymouth also has an
extensive commercial port, known as Millbay Docks where ferries are available to book.
The modern passenger terminal in Portsmouth is extensive, with vehicle marshalling to ease
the flow of traffic in the port. The terminal provides a cafe for hot and cold meals and
various refreshments, and a Bureau de Change. A free car park is also available to park
your car.
The main terminal has disabled toilets with low level pay phones. Assistance is available
for passengers with special needs, if you need to make arrangements please do so when
booking or at the latest whilst checking in.
Santander
Santander is on the northern coast of Spain and a great entrance into the Spanish
mainland. Santander has an impressive road network to speed you to other destinations in
Spain or Portugal so is an ideal gateway and used by many travellers from the United
Kingdom.
Santander's main attractions are on the seafront; the Sardinero beach, gardens, casino and
the royal Magdalena Palace. To the southwest of Santander is the Altamira Cave, which
contains famous Stone Age paintings and drawings of bison and other animals, a must for
anyone interested in man's developement and history. Entrance to the original cave is
restricted but the local authority on conservation reasons, but a replica of the cave has
been built to accommodate the general public and is well worth a visit.
