Disabled passengers and those with impaired vision, hearing or mobility should read the following before deciding whether to travel with Brittany Ferries.
We welcome all passengers onboard to enjoy our exceptional fleet and holiday products. Certain aspects of sea travel must be taken into account before choosing Brittany Ferries. The design and construction of all our craft and the possibility of rough seas mean access and the freedom to move around the ship may be compromised for some passengers. In certain instances we will ask that you bring an able-bodied companion with you to help assure your safety and comfort whilst onboard.
Disabled cabins are available, however, these are limited and early booking is essential to avoid disappointment. Please note that these cabins can only be booked by calling 0870 420 1267, and that some disabled cabins will have bunk beds for travelling companions.
As with all watertight constructions, many doors will have sills and stairways may be steep. You need to consider whether this will cause you problems once onboard.
If we don’t think we can guarantee your safety or comfort onboard, we may suggest you don’t travel.
We ask you to advise us as early as possible if you have a disability or impairment that may make moving around or communication onboard difficult. In order to assess the suitability of our fleet for your needs, we do ask that you book through our reservations centre in order that your requirements are properly evaluated and noted on your booking. This will help to prevent confusion when you travel.
All the terminals in our UK ports have disabled access and facilities. If you have any queries regarding the facilities at ports in the UK, France or Spain, please call us on 0870 420 1267.
In order to best assess the assistance we are able to offer on the day of your crossing, we ask that you arrive at the port at least 60 minutes before the time of departure. This does not necessarily mean you will board early but it will give our loading crew more time to evaluate your individual needs with those of the rest of our passengers.
Whilst onboard, our crew will be happy to help where possible. We do promise to offer assistance and attention where feasible however, please be aware that we cannot carry your luggage or assign a member of staff to look after you personally.
If you need to be accompanied by your assistance dog whilst onboard, please be aware that clearing up after the dog is your responsibility. You should also note that sea travel can be distressing for animals and the safety and comfort of all our passengers should not be compromised.
If you have a hearing impairment that prevents you from hearing onboard announcements, please report to the information desk onboard as soon as possible. The crew will ensure that you are made aware of our safety procedures and may ask that you keep them informed of your movements onboard in case of an emergency.
Please be honest and frank when booking if you think your disability or impairment could cause you difficulty boarding or getting around the ship. We want you to enjoy a comfortable and safe crossing!
