Dover Port Ferry Overview

The Port of Dover is the cross-channel port situated in Dover, south-east England. It is the nearest English port to France, at just 21 miles away, and one of Europe's largest passenger ports, with 14 million travellers, 700,000 trucks, 1.6 million cars and motorcycles and 118,000 buses passing through it each year.

At the Port of Dover Ferry Terminal, you will be offered a friendly and efficient welcome by the Dover ferry port team. The Port of Dover has long been one of the largest ports in Europe, with centuries of maritime heritage since it's beginning in 1606. In the past few years Dover Ferry Port has just celebrated it's 400th anniversary.

Today, Dover ferry port offers, efficient, modern facilities and services for all ferry passengers using the port. The port has seen plenty of investment in recent years creating excellent modern transport links for the modern international traveller. Dover Port Directions
Dover is approximately 70 miles from South London. From the M2, follow the A2 direct into Dover, or from the M20, follow the A20 again to Dover. Dover Port Parking

Choose from short and long term parking located next to the terminal, with prices from £2 for 2 hours to £25 for 4 days. Disabled parking bays for ferry passengers can be found on the first levels 1 and 2 of the multi-storey car park at the Ferry Terminal.

Dover Port Services

There are six main areas/buildings within the terminal at Dover, the Travel Centre, the Foot Passenger Embarkation Lounge, the Arrivals Building and the East, Central and West passenger service buildings.

Each passenger service building offers a wide range of dining and refreshment options including high street brands such as Burger King, Cafe Ritazza, Barnacles Bar and Franklins of Boston Coffee Bar. You will also find various snack bars dotted around the terminals.

Other services available include toilets, disabled toilets, showers, baby changing rooms, pay phones, a well stocked shop, Europcar & Avis car hire, children's play areas, game zones, viewing area, Natwest Bank, Bureau de Change, and cash points. As with all public areas in the UK the buildings are all non-smoking. There is a BP Petrol Station & Shop near the entrance of the Eastern Docks.
